Do you include your Twitter username on your email signature? Options include a Twitter image that can be clicked through to your account or the URL link in your signature block.

When you leave a comment on a blog, do you put your Twitter username at the end of your comment?

Finding people to follow on Twitter can be undertaken in numerous ways. When you first join Twitter you are prompted with “See if your friends are on Twitter”. And you can check Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, and MSN email accounts.
I would suggest you skip this step when you first join because you don’t yet have anything in your profile. You really don’t want people to look at your profile while it’s still empty. If you want to use this feature, plan to do it after you’ve gotten your profile optimized.

All social networking sites exist for you to make connections with people who have similar interests to yours. Yet each site requires its own strategy if you want to optimize your connections on that particular site.
On Facebook and LinkedIn you extend an invitation to people and you wait to see if they accept your invitation. On Twitter anyone can follow anyone without an invitation – in fact, this is part of Twitter’s power.
