Without CALL to ACTION, SEO Services Don’t Convert

Posted on 03 February 2010

Most frequently, SEO service providers hear this question from the inquirers or SEO service applicants: “Will you guarantee the ROI (Return on Investment)?” Well, it’s not easy to approve that search engine optimization can achieve this goal without certain factors involved at your site including “Call to Action” phrases, buttons, etc.

So, What Do SEO Services Do for You?

Well, in a nutshell, search engine optimization is a series of techniques helping your site receive targeted traffic from search engines. Therefore, your site will get an influx of selected visitors, those whom you’ve chosen to find your site and land at certain pages of it – landing pages. How could the very same service convert such visitors to customers?

One may argue that by landing page optimization, they will bring particular group of visitors to specific pages already optimized. Therefore, a “call to action” mechanism should have been anticipated for such sites of the clients. Well, this could be very much true, but not in all cases.

What I mean is that you may have a site with 100s, 1000s or even more pages. These pages may get populated by content dynamically and you don’t optimize all of them as landing pages. In this case, without the presence of call to action mechanism, SEO services don’t convert the traffic to buyers, subscribers, etc.

Call to Action Mechanism as Part of Content Creation

The content creation team of either a static or dynamic website should arrange to bring the “call to action” phrase, button, banner, etc to the visitors’ view in any way they can. They may build an information site to create awareness about some topic. The traffic may well begin from any page of the site depending on the organic search results the SEO services provide.

The goal of the site could be to attract subscribers, because it aims at selling advertisement on the site of its enewsletter. So, the new visitors or even repeat visitors should be provided by a mechanism to subscribe to get more information on the topic of your site. If the content creators of the site provide this, for instance at the sidebar, end of the articles, etc, chances are you could successfully convince such visitors to subscribe at their reading session.

Call to Action Doesn’t Guarantee Sales Either!

A site doesn’t sell because it has some “call to action” mechanism. There are other factors involved like:

  • Trust building
  • Valuable content
  • Powerful testimonials
  • Continued contact
  • etc

So, It’s not fair or right to expect SEO services guarantee sales at a website with or without “call to action”.

What other factors are involved in increasing conversion rate?

This is a question for you to share your experience and explain how it’s possible to achieve a higher ratio of conversion at a website.

Please go ahead and share your thoughts!
