Is Your Content King Too?

Posted on 24 February 2010

Content was, is and will be king forever on the web. Nobody has doubted this ever. Almost everyone knows it as a fact. But, let’s face it: Do you create the kind of content that could be referred as king?

What’s It that We Call King?

A great web content could have several features. You don’t have to necessarily have them all together. Depending on the type of industry you’re in, the audience you have, the content you create, etc your content could have some of these features and lack others.

Alright, let’s get to the point. Your content is king IF:

  • It’s informative.
  • It’s basically aimed at providing valuable information.
  • It’s up-to-date.
  • It’s timely and provides some solution for what’s needed today.
  • It’s long enough to cover what it claims to explain.
  • It’s true, reliable, experience-based, scientific, non-biased, etc.
  • It’s optimized to be read, heard, and watched easily.
  • It’s optimized to be easily found by search engines.
  • It’s optimized to increase your search engine visibility.
  • It’s optimized to be easily understood.
  • It attracts backlinks to your site.
  • It covers different aspects of a topic.
  • It aims at helping everyone without exception.
  • It’s void of anything that could hurt any race, religion, individuals’ rights, etc.
  • It’s void of anything inhumane.
  • It’s there to help.

Could there be any other features that one could add to this list? Why not, Please ADD TO THIS LIST if you know of other features to enrich this list.

Content Creation Frequency Is Also a Decisive Factor

You may have some type of content that could be referred to as king by the above criteria or even a longer list, but it could lack one element: a regular “Content Creation Frequency“! This is highly important.

In order to make sure that your content is well-liked by search engines and they consequently display it in front of millions of eyes, you should follow certain publishing pattern and stick to it. By this, I mean that you should create more or less particular amount of content on a regular basis.

If necessity demands, if your capabilities allow, if your target market requires, etc, commit to some periodical model for creating and publishing model for your site and follow it – period. If it’s 5 days a week, go ahead and make sure you can do it and really perform it as decided. If you cannot create valuable content 3 times a day, every single day of the week, forget it and stick to something doable.

Consider Practicality for Your Content Creation Model

If you’ve come to decision that you need to update your site, you may want to consider blogging. Decide to write and publish blog posts 3 times a week, but if you cannot do it, you have two options:

  1. Change this model to 2 posts or even 1 post a week, but make sure you do it, OR
  2. Leave it to someone or some company to do it for you.

The only vital factor here is to make certain that your schedule is practicable. If you think you cannot create such web content yourself, but it’s highly essential for your business, you can order some blog writing service. There are many of them out there on the web. Study them and select the one that you trust they follow the above list’s features as their criteria.

Website copywriting has got its own rules. It’s not just like writing whatever looks great. You can leave it to the experts who are specialized in it and know how to attract more targeted traffic to your site.

Then, you would be relieved and could concentrate on what your online business is about. A king-like content brings credibility, trust and fervent followers to your business. You need it for many reasons. It’s a must-have. You have to make a decision today before it gets too late!
