Back in the late 50’s and early 60’s, there was a big scare about subliminal persuasion in marketing. People were under the impression that movie theaters were flashing “buy popcorn” and “buy cola” during the movies and influencing people to buy products. There were even books published claiming that marketing images in magazines had subliminal messages in them.
Whether any of that is true or not is debatable. However, what isn’t debatable is that while you can’t actually make people do anything, you can use subliminal messages in your copy writing to help guide people to a buying decision. Finding people to follow on Twitter can be undertaken in numerous ways. When you first join Twitter you are prompted with “See if your friends are on Twitter”. And you can check Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, and MSN email accounts.
I would suggest you skip this step when you first join because you don’t yet have anything in your profile. You really don’t want people to look at your profile while it’s still empty. If you want to use this feature, plan to do it after you’ve gotten your profile optimized.

All social networking sites exist for you to make connections with people who have similar interests to yours. Yet each site requires its own strategy if you want to optimize your connections on that particular site.

There are solid reasons why Google has decided to buy reCAPTCHA although it’s quite common these days that increasingly popular sites are bought by the big boys on the Internet. Social media, in general, is growing very fast and people are attracted to them like never. Internet fraud and spam is also similarly growing as many have started surfing the net quite recently and before they got used to emails and the so-called private arena.
