Web Copywriting – Using Subliminal Persuasion – Part One

Posted on 29 September 2009

Author: Bob McClain, Web Copywriting Expert

Back in the late 50’s and early 60’s, there was a big scare about subliminal persuasion in marketing. People were under the impression that movie theaters were flashing “buy popcorn” and “buy cola” during the movies and influencing people to buy products. There were even books published claiming that marketing images in magazines had subliminal messages in them.

Whether any of that is true or not is debatable. However, what isn’t debatable is that while you can’t actually make people do anything, you can use subliminal messages in your copy writing to help guide people to a buying decision. And isn’t that what copywriting is all about? Getting people to buy?

New Strategy to Increase Search Engine Visibility

Posted on 28 September 2009

Recently Google has released a new algorithmic solution for better search experience so that you can directly jump to the information you want right from the search snippets. It’s good news for web searchers, because they can get directly to what they are looking for. But, what’s in it for SEO experts and web designers?

New Google Search Snippet Explained

How to Find People to Follow on Twitter

Posted on 25 September 2009

Written by Phyllis Zimbler Miller, Twitter Marketing Expert

Finding people to follow on Twitter can be undertaken in numerous ways.  When you first join Twitter you are prompted with “See if your friends are on Twitter”.  And you can check Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, and MSN email accounts.

I would suggest you skip this step when you first join because you don’t yet have anything in your profile.  You really don’t want people to look at your profile while it’s still empty.  If you want to use this feature, plan to do it after you’ve gotten your profile optimized.

Written by Phyllis Zimbler Miller, Twitter Marketing Expert

All social networking sites exist for you to make connections with people who have similar interests to yours.  Yet each site requires its own strategy if you want to optimize your connections on that particular site.

On Facebook and LinkedIn you extend an invitation to people and you wait to see if they accept your invitation.  On Twitter anyone can follow anyone without an invitation – in fact, this is part of Twitter’s power.

Google Acquires reCAPTCHA As Internet Fraud and Spam Soar in Social Media

Posted on 16 September 2009

There are solid reasons why Google has decided to buy reCAPTCHA although it’s quite common these days that increasingly popular sites are bought by the big boys on the Internet.
