Either you have an SEO service provider or you conduct your search engine optimization process yourself, you need to know how to measure good SEO practices. This is vital, because it won’t be possible to find out if you’re on the right track without having some criteria for discovering it.

Ensure Legitimate SEO Practices Are Being Performed

Usually, you’ve been through decision making regarding your online marketing method, outsourcing or insourcing options and proper practice planning before you ever decide to see if you’re following good SEO practices or not. You know that by correct and legitimate search engine optimization methods, we mean those that do good to your site, not harm it. And you know that those steps are both to be taken inside as well as outside your website.

Good practices are those that end up in natural improvement of your website ranking in search engines, organic positioning of your pages for your keywords, etc without being banned from search engines’ indexes, being dropped from the top result pages, etc. Once all this has happened, you need to have some methods to make sure that your marketing campaign has followed good SEO practices.

There are various ways to discover if your practitioner, team or your SEO service provider is conducting good SEO practices. I introduce you a series of them here. You need to make sure that:

  1. Your analytical tools indicate that your visitors’ behavior has improved or changed to the direction that you’ve asked for. For instance, when you see that they’re visiting your site in larger numbers, using your target keywords, asking your favorite questions,  etc.
  2. Your webpages are indexed in search engines. You may have had some pages at your site that haven’t been indexed in search engines for some reasons. Following good SEO practices, this should happen.
  3. Your search engine rankings for your keywords are increased. You can keep track of your rankings in search engines by checking if your position has improved in result pages for your keywords.
  4. Your website’s link popularity has increases. Once informative attractive content is produced through articles, press releases, etc for your site, several other sites including authority ones would link back t your site. This will help your site dramatically.
  5. Your marketing campaign results are better than the ones achieved during a previous period. You can see the improvement of good SEO practices by comparing your marketing results to the ones obtained last month or months.
  6. Your emails are indicative of proper marketing efforts. You certainly select the keywords that are helpful in bringing the target traffic to to your site.  This can be reflected in your emails where others mention what you’d like them to mention.
  7. Etc.

Depending on why you’ve decided to conduct search engine optimization campaigns for your site, the checking methods could vary. What I just listed above are the general points that are common among a large number of people who use this type of online marketing method.

Continue Good SEO Practices

When you realize that you’re on the right track and your SEO work is leading you toward where you’ve decided to go, keep checking the process as it goes forward and stay on the same path. Don’t stop it as if you’ve gained what you’ve been looking for. It’s the regular campaign and persistent work that bears fruits. Otherwise, your good SEO service practices may sluggishly lead you toward your goals and not in the right time you’ve expected it.
