Before anything else, we should concentrate on what our site’s main purpose is to be able to select keywords for it. Sometimes we are distracted by other factors that don’t help our site’s main purpose. We simply put more energy on them and get attracted to them. The result of such keyword research will be lack of focal efforts that keep us away from getting to your goals sooner.

How to Prioritize Your Keywords!

What I’m telling you here is the fact that you should inform your SEO service providers of your priority keywords. If you don’t order such on-page SEO services (website optimization services) and take care of your SEO works yourself, again the guideline will be to have your priority keywords on top of your keyword list. Now, let see how we should select our top keywords.

Even if we’re only concentrating on one particular niche, which is the ideal plan, there could be lots of key phrases for us to stick to. So, our keyword basket will be too big. We definitely have certain preferences in achieving our site’s goals. Let’s sit back and ask ourselves what it really is that our site is up for and where we’d like to see it ultimately get to. Based on that, we should have a much smaller list of keywords that we choose to rank for first.

For instance, if your main goal is to sell your products, why don’t you look for the keyphrases focused on selling that product? Here are some examples of how to select keywords that could get you to the goal you have in mind:

  • Where to buy products
  • Buy professional products
  • Purchase cheap products
  • Shopping best products
  • Shopping for products online
  • etc

Therefore, the keywords pertaining to buy your products should be your top priority to rank for. In the process of search engine optimization, either when you perform on-page SEO or off-page SEO, you’ll have to bear in mind what priorities you have in terms of the keyword selections.

What about Selecting other Keywords?

Your SEO service providers or you definitely create useful content that are related to your products. They make your informative content. It’s a great idea to provide top quality content for your audience. More importantly, for yourself, you should be able to get such content in front of them by ranking highly in search engines. To make this happen, another set of keywords is needed so that you get higher search engine visibility. This makes your second set of priority keywords.

I would say that you could select keywords related to your products even if you don’t use the words suggesting buying it. Let consider the product you sell is shoes. The second set of keywords could be:

  • Types of shoe sole
  • Material for shoe soles
  • Shoelace patterns
  • How to choose shoe width
  • etc

Of course, it will be great if you provide links to order pages of your site from such content pages, because the indirect purpose of such content will be to direct people to buy from you. But, it could be at the landing page you plan for your content. For instance, you can include such links at your article’s resource box, side columns, main menu, etc.

The important factor will be to provide a setting for your readers to feel they can freely read your content without being obliged to buy from you. It’s only then that they would trust you more and eventually buy from you if other factors are also considered.

The last word will be to consider your main goal at your top-priority list of keyphrases when you decide how to select keywords. Then, go to the second priority and so on.
