A Few Words about Martin Dolan and His Website
I’m the kind of person who’d like people to introduce themselves and say what they’ve got to say themselves when it comes to such situations. Martin has explained in his words what he’s been doing online and how search engine optimization has helped him. Therefore, I’m going to quote what Martin has got to say about his works and activities online. There you go:
My name is Martin Dolan, a 40 year old Artist and Business Consultant from Eltham, Australia.
Not your average artist, I specialise in Sci-fi art and science fiction sculpture which I have been producing since being inspired by Dr Who at the age of 7.
My mission is for people to experience my sci-fi art, and science fiction sculptures, and if it encourages them to look towards the future thinking differently, I am happy.
I put a lot of thought into each artwork, asking myself, “If this robot, time machine or alien clone baby was real, how would it work, what would it look like, and what is the story behind it?” These science fiction stories then accompany each sci-fi sculpture and artwork.
The website started in 1999 when I decided to go online with an art gallery of my sculptures. Back then it was mostly images, virtually no text, so it didn’t get many visitors. There was nothing for search engines to “read and rank”.
In 2007, after a brainwave to put up a blog and talk about my sci-fi art, there was something for art lovers to enjoy at a deeper level. The blog grew including articles about other artist’s sci-fi art, and examples of how science fiction slowly becomes science fact. Now search engines have something read and rank.
Since providing information that other science fiction art fans would enjoy reading, search engines are finding and ranking the art gallery. More people get to appreciate artwork of time machines, alien artefacts and robot sculptures.
Using Site Boosters SEO tips blog, I am taking ranking to the next level – through linking the right way, alt and title tags, meta keywords and descriptions. This has doubled the number of hits I get to my site in just one month. SEO is worth it. Everything implemented correctly gets more visitors.
No point having the best sci-fi art on the web if no one can find it!
My Final Words
I would encourage all of you to participate in this blog as Martin did and help one another learn, practice and share the knowledge of organic SEO. It will benefit all of us and our sites/blogs.
