Of course more links from a site is more tempting, but it will share lots of that site’s ranking with you. They may not like it! On the other hand, the amount of help you can get from a website with high relevancy to your content, with high search engine ranking and also high a specific rank of a page could be a lot better and more useful.
You may have designed or optimized a website for a client. It’s better and more ethical not to post a link to your site from all their pages. It’s not good for them.
